First floor of Bisgrove Hall will undergo transformational renovation

Since opening in September 2025, the Bieler Institute of Business Ethics has transformed the first floor of Bisgrove Hall into a dynamic, state-of-the-art learning environment. Made possible through the generosity of Scott and Kathy Bieler and the Scott Bieler Family Foundation, the institute provides innovative opportunities for students across the university through cross-disciplinary learning and collaboration.

Students have embraced the renovated spaces, which feature a technology-enabled collaboration hub, a high-tech computer lab with financial trading terminals and industry-standard business software, and a Classroom of the Future that uses artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality to immerse students in real-world business and ethical decision-making scenarios.

Throughout the 2025-26 academic year, the Bieler Institute became a hub of student engagement, professional development, and community connection. The space hosted events such as the Lumsden McCormick Case Competition, Executive Insights with Jeff Holzschuh, Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP), Finance Club programming, and meetings of regional business organizations including the ISM of WNY. Student teams preparing for national competitions, including the National Grocers Association case competition, utilized the space for strategy sessions and mock presentations, while business students planning academic and career immersion trips to Italy and New York City gathered there for collaborative planning. The institute also welcomed prospective students and families during open house events and serves as the home for more than a dozen business classes each week.
